Local Sourcing: There’s No Place Like Home

From our own beginnings in 1905 as a small, family-owned general store in Kerrville, Texas, we know firsthand how important small businesses are to communities. That’s why H-E-B prefers to source Texas-first: To directly support our neighbors in the communities we serve by looking for products from Texans and their businesses first, before sourcing out of state. And, since these products travel fewer miles to our stores, local sourcing also helps us all shop more sustainably.

We’re proud to support our fellow Texans and help strengthen the Lone Star State economy. The next time you’re at your neighborhood H-E-B, you’ll see over 6,000 products grown, harvested, or made in Texas*, from ice cream to skin care to produce, salsa, and more.

We continue to add more each year with our H-E-B Quest for Texas Best contest! This helps support budding Texas-based entrepreneurs, while bringing innovative new Texan products to your neighborhood H-E-B.

You can support local at H-E-B by shopping Texan products!
