Every packaging change made by H-E-B can have a Texas-sized impact on our environment. It’s our responsibility to actively look for and make sustainable choices in our use of paper & plastic packaging, and we’re delighted to share these choices with our Partners & customers.

H-E-B is a good steward of food recovery and helping feed hungry Texans. We use the EPA Food Recovery Hierarchy System to minimize our output and maximize the food we recover & share with those in need, feed animals, and more.

Bring your plastic bags to H-E-B storefront drop-off bins or Curbside Pickup, and we’ll recycle them for you!

We’re partnering with nonprofit How2Recycle to add recycling instruction labels to thousands of H-E-B-brand products, to help consumers recycle more.

Did you know not all Texans have access to recycling? In fact, right now, 3% of H-E-B communities don’t have recycling access. H-E-B is on a mission to change that.

For almost 20 years, we’ve been recycling our store and other operational plastic, with almost 17.5 million pounds recycled this year.
