H-E-B has over 62 rooftop solar panel systems in place – 55 store and 7 facility installments. This robust network helps to diversify our overall energy sources and reduce our reliance on only non-renewable resources.

H-E-B runs an efficient transportation fleet that carries goods to you across Texas. We closely monitor our company’s transportation fuel usage as a founding member of the EPA SmartWay Transport Partnership.

H-E-B is invested in growing our renewable energy sources to power stores and facilities from 14% today to over 50% by 2025. Thanks in large part to the Texas sun.

Texan interest in driving electric cars has increased in recent years, so H-E-B is growing our charging station footprint in order to meet our customers’ needs!

In 2019, H-E-B joined the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) GreenChill Partnership, strengthening its commitment to reduce its carbon footprint by continuing to invest in cutting-edge, environmentally sustainable refrigeration systems.
